FAQs
Are there any age restrictions to rent from you?
We prefer to do business with clients who are actually 25 years and above because of our insurance coverage restrictions. But, based upon your needs, whenever possible, we strive to be flexible.
In case you are younger than twenty-five, try contacting your insurance provider to determine if you would be insured for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, after which you can contact us.
Are you able to accommodate adults with children?
Indeed! Please note that using our rooftop campers you would need to climb one small ladder. If this is an issue, we also provide an additional camping tent with all of our packages which you may set up on the ground next to the camper vehicle. This may be much more comfortable for you as well as your kids.
How many individuals can your camper vehicles accommodate?
We are able to fit three people at most, although if there are more within your party, we do offer an extra camping tent, too. With this, we can easily fit up to 5 individuals. Each of our trucks has 5 seatbelts.
Can you provide surfboards?
Certainly, we offer surfboards and boogie boards as well as fins upon request for a fee. Simply let us know in advance if you want to rent one, so that we can add it to your booking and have it ready for you at departure.
Can we get a guide or perhaps a map with the nicest hiking trails and beaches to check out on Kauai?
Certainly, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best locations to see & go camping on Kauai.
Ideal Locations For Camping On Kauai & Camping Permits FAQ
Can I visit any beach to camp?
You can go to any beach, however, you should only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual practice. We’ll give you a list of the greatest places to visit and to camp in. Please note that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t permitted on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” allowed or are we only able to visit designated camping grounds? If so, how much is the cost?
No, wild camping isn’t permitted in Kauai. You should only camp in designated areas with secured camping permits. The fee is roughly $3 per night stay in the majority of Kauai county campgrounds, though private campgrounds may be a bit more. One advantage of these campsites is that you have total access to amenities, including showers, bathrooms & picnic kitchen tables. Please be aware that if you choose to go camping on the county camp sites, you are only permitted to use the ground tent.
Can you suggest any Kauai camp sites where we can set up the roof top tent?

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before we arrive in Kauai?
It is definitely a good idea to organize your Kauai camping permits before your journey. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you may secure your licenses on the internet and also in person in the respective office.
If you opt to stay at a county campground and use a ground tent, you can request permits by going to the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
Up-front, the fees are $3 per night for non-residents of Hawaii. Accepted payment methods with this application are bank checks and money orders. But it’s not absolutely necessary to book your camping permits before your arrival. You could also obtain them at the various permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
What is the processing time for getting camping permits?
No matter if you choose to go to a state or private camping ground, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to camp at a county campsite, mail-in applications are easy to submit, however it can take quite some time to get your permits. Permits can be bought at the permit offices on Kauai once you have arrived; in-person permits are issued on-the-spot.
